Kuala Lumpur: At least 14 Umno MPs have retracted their support for the Perikatan Nasional government so far, a news portal reported yesterday.
The source says besides the 11 who were present during the Umno press conference yesterday, three others had also signed letters to inform the Yang di-Pertuan Agong that they are no longer government MPs.
They are Lenggong and an MP from Sabah.
While they have yet to respond, Shamsul Anuar Nasarah had tendered his resignation from Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s cabinet.
Another source claimed that the 14th MP is from Sabah. If confirmed, this will bring the number of MPs still in PN to 96. Deputy PM Ismail Sabri Yacob had said last week the PN government had 110 MPs supporting it in Parliament.
