New story on $23m pink diamond for Rosmah

Jurors in New York did not see the necklace with a pink diamond or a picture of it but they saw an invoice according to news reports that give us fresh details on the elusive, super expensive gem that was crafted for Rosmah, the former FLOM of Malaysia.

The necklace has a pink diamond big enough to be a paperweight was created by prestigious New York jeweller Lorraine Schwartz for Rosmah and according to the jeweller’s records, Jho Low requested the pink diamond necklace in June 2013 after Rosmah requested an 18-carat diamond.

“Ms Schwartz claimed she only had a 22-carat pink diamond,” and the larger stone was purchased for US$23 million and documents show that Schwartz personally presented the jewellery to Rosmah while she was onboard a boat with Low off the coast of Monaco. According to the documents, Rosmah later purchased an additional US$1.3 million in jewellery from Schwartz in 2014.
