The whole KL Fashion Week debacle is still buzzing, as the recent scandal of them not paying models on time. The current organiser claims that it should be for free as it’s giving the models ‘exposure’.
The organisers are behaving as though they are arrogant like Chanel and Dior are releasing new collections in their show. It is an unfortunately common situation for Malaysia, where the arts and artists are not appreciated by the higher ups of the industry.
Model and actress Alicia Amin was there to humble the organisers but having a self protest to spread awareness of this toxic situation. Netizens have dubbed her as a hero by sticking her neck out there. She had a signboard that informed people on the situation and urged any models in that situation to come forward to her.
