The movie Mrs Harris goes to Paris is about an English housekeeper that has dreams to own a beautiful Christian Dior Haute Couture dinner gown. The movie then shows how difficult it was for her to purchase the dress but at the same time, Dior allowed her to purchase it.
Back in the day, only the rich and famous could afford such labels. In the movie, set in 1957, the dress cost £500. In today’s currency it would be approximately RM50,000. However, the movie instilled the magic of Dior as in the end she was treated well by the brand despite being just a simple cleaner.
It is observed in the luxury world of today that Dior is one of the stores with the friendlier staff when compared to other brands of a similar stature. This fact has even been parodied on TikTok by showing that Dior will always treat their customers right.
