Najib Razak who is just starting his 12-year jail sentence for a corruption case related to 1MDB has been admitted to hospital. Rumours are rife on the reason why Najib is in hospital, from an unknown episode in prison to intestinal bleeding.
“He is currently being treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. I wish to thank prison authorities and Hospital Kuala Lumpur staff for the cooperation and help given,” says his special officer Muhamad Mukhlis Maghribi according to Singapore Straits Times.
The officer did not say anything else but a prison officer who spoke to a local news portal said Najib’s condition was stable and he was getting the required treatment. But a source said that the former prime minister is believed to be getting a medical check-up following an unknown episode in prison.
