Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has expressed sadness at the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and as usual, he has something particular to say, adding that the latter was one year younger than him.
“I am saddened by the death of the Queen. Only two days before she had received in the audience the new PM of the UK. I had met her on many occasions, especially during meetings of the British Commonwealth,” says Mahathir in a Facebook post.
“I remembered her laughing at my joke about the English language. In Zimbabwe I made a speech in which I pointed out that what is said in English is not what is meant,” he recalled.
