Recently, Tengku Zafrul, our Minister of Finance, claimed that Malaysia’s economy is in great shape and that having a lower currency rate is better for the country. However, according to the local press, a PKR member stated that this is misleading towards the public.
Zafrul gave the typical answer saying that exporters can export more goods outside of the country as the Ringgit is cheaper for them. Unfortunately for his statement, the PKR member stated that millions of Malaysians will have to bear the price of rising food costs. Malaysia isn’t a country that produces everything.
Netizens are also attacking the Finance Minister on Twitter saying that he is a scammer and that he is suspicious. Others stated that only ‘fools’ will accept Zafrul’s statement that a weaker currency is good for our country.
