What are the possible election dates in Malaysia? According to the Straits Times Singapore, Sept 23 is a potential date when elections could be called, but not held.

It says the Kuala Lumpur High Court will, on that date, decide whether Umno president Zahid Hamidi will be acquitted or ordered to enter his defence on charges of accepting bribes from a company to extend its contract for the foreign visa system. He was then the Home Minister.

Or the government can wait for the Budget to be tabled before it dissolves the Parliament. The Budget could be a popular, election budget that would help the government distribute goodies to the nation with the hope that the voters will give it the confidence to continue with handouts to the satisfaction of the people. Other dates: Nov 10 linked to Zahid’s trial regarding his charitable foundation.
