PKR says it will lead a class action lawsuit against ‘irresponsible’ banks in scam cases according to the party’s communications director, Lee Chean Chung.
Yesterday he says the party will lead a class action lawsuit against banks that do not act in the best interests of their customers in scam cases. The party says the government and banks have a moral obligation to take proactive action because of these scammers.
These scams are based on fraud or malicious intent. According to the party, an average of 20,000 people fall victim to banking scams each year, with scammers stealing more than RM660 million.
