Shopee, one of the most successful e-commerce platforms in Southeast Asia, has been receiving a lot of backlash, similar to AirAsia and Prasarana. Netizens are calling out the e-commerce platform for being greedy and unfair towards both the sellers and buyers.
They have increased the percentage cut for the sellers to pay, are stingy with vouchers, have ridiculous standards for the ‘preferred seller’ status and are having issues with ShopeeXpress.
A netizen said, “We miss shopping without hassle and greed, we enjoyed shopping on Shopee but now no more.” Furthermore, their ‘free shipping’ vouchers do not cover the whole shipping cost. It seems more users may jump ship to Lazada now as they appear to be more honest in business.
