The heirs of the Sulu Sultanate that caused so many political ramifications in Malaysia have asked a Dutch court (The Hague Court of Appeal ) for permission to seize Malaysian assets in the Netherlands and they say there is more escalation to come soon.

Their lawyer said the move is to seek enforcement of a US$15 billion arbitration award granted to them against Malaysia’s government and is the next after the Luxembourg seizure that went viral on a global scale.

Malaysia has obtained a stay on the ruling pending an appeal in the French arbitration court which in Feb ordered Malaysia to pay the US$15 billion. Now the Netherlands are next.
