Yesterday, the house of Balenciaga introduced their new ready-to-wear collection for next year’s spring and summer’s season. However, it did gain some controversy after making their models walk through literal mud during the unveil of their new pieces.
It is unclear whether walking on mud is meant to show the durability of their RM5,000 pair of shoes or if it’s just another ‘art’ symbolism. There were some interesting new pieces, such as a teddy bear handbag and a long curly cushioned ‘snake’ scarf.
Netizens commented that the art installation was meant to show the effects of war as the mud is the battlefield and people are headed towards it. Most of the comments on their unique way of presenting their high priced items are positive.
