A netizen gave advice about leaves in Malaysia. Each place of employment is required by law to give you a minimum of 11 days off in the year. Holidays such as Merdeka, labour day and Hari Malaysia are compulsory to be an official leave day.
If your employer asks you to work on a public holiday, they are required to pay you at least double for your services. Working overtime during a public holiday would mean that you are entitled to 3x your normal daily wage.
Netizens sadly pointed out that this does not apply to F&B workers. They are unfortunately treated like robots. Unfortunately, there are a lot of businesses here that do not abide by that law and would often overwork their employees.
