Despite the King being absent next week (the King is off to London for the week from Sunday night to witness the launching of the Battersea Power Station), Umno is confident the parliament will be dissolved next week, says a Singapore news site.
The paper says the King has given the Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob a ‘post-dated’ checque meaning to say the King has already agreed to a dissolution of the Parliament and has told the PM it is up to him when he wants to call for the elections.
The Singapore paper says it has also learned that after his Thursday evening meeting with Sultan Abdullah, Umno gave Ismail Sabri an ultimatum: “call GE or face the consequences.”
