All 30 people who were trapped inside a cave in Malaysia’s Perak state on Wednesday due to floodwaters have been rescued says a Perak and Fire Rescue Department spokesman who adds the victims were able to escape the Gua Tempurung cave around 5.45 p.m.
The victims, who were filming in the cave, became trapped at the back after the entrance became flooded due to heavy rains in the area.
No one was hurt. Ten people were rescued first, and the rest were rescued by their own production crew.
Water levels began to rise around Gua Tempurung around 3 p.m., says an official.
