Anwar Ibrahim, the opposition leader and boss of the Pakatan Harapan says he is encouraged by the turnout and the support in his Tambun walkabout where he is contesting the parliamentary seat.
He says he was initially worried about making such an electoral foray in Perak but the Thursday’s event saw a large turnout. It was his first visit to the Tambun ward.
“When I decided to contest Tambun, I was thinking whether can (win) or not,” he says, as quoted by online news portal. “But after seeing the crowd today, who attended this programme despite hot weather and workday, I’m confident this time.”
PN’s Ahmad Faizal Azumu who jumped from PH to TS Muhyiddin Yassin’s alliance will apparently contest against Anwar and says he is not going anywhere. Azumu won the seat on a PH ticket in 2018 in a three-cornered fight.
