“Actually it was Tun Mahathir who started the movement for Bersatu to quit PH,” says ex-PM TS Muhyiddin Yassin who his in a bickering fight with Dr Mahathir Mohamad on the latter’s statement that Muhyiddin is a betrayer who back-stabbed him when he was the Pakatan Harapan PM.
In a lengthy post on FB, Muhyiddin spilt more beans against Mahathir saying it was Dr M who initiated the move to quit PH, adding that Mahathir remained PM and did not pull Bersatu out of the ruling coalition after the PH presidential council decided to continue their support for Mahathir as PM on Feb 21, 2020.
To recall, the Feb 21 meeting was stormy with Mahathir threatening to quit while the PH leaders were pressing him to give a date for his ‘retirement’ and for handing power to Anwar Ibrahim.
But history will remember the moment Bersatu, Azmin and friends from PKR and other MPs decided to opt for the ‘Sheraton Move’ that caused the collapse of the PH regime in 2020.
