Elon Musk, the new boss at Twitter is working very hard to restore the image of the glorious social media platform but he is also bringing in changes that will make Twitter different and one of them is to end impersonation on the platform because Mr Musk is not happy there are too many accounts tweeting for him.
To be fair though, he wants such accounts to specify very clearly that they are ‘parody’ accounts in order not to create confusion. It is understanding though, since the tweets from Mr Elon can either destroy a company or idea and can also cause a spike in markets.
End impersonation but not creativity
“Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended,” he writes.
