Umno, the biggest party in the country, is facing terrible infighting that has weakened the leadership of Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who has practically locked himself in a ‘bunker’ and created more enemies by throwing pro-Ismail Sabri Yaakob ‘ministers’ out of the electoral race.
Not only that, there is apparently a huge public backlash with an outcry from many that elections should have been delayed amid talks and evidence of floods and heavy rain.
Furthermore, BN is likely to lose its traditional Malay support base, as well as younger, new voters who remain a political wildcard while both PH and PN are slowly eating into the Umno voter base.
Infighting in Umno

Analysts are also saying there is now a viable competition for the Malay vote which is Perikatan Nasional (PN) comprising PAS and (former Prime Minister) Muhyiddin Yassin’s BERSATU and the Infighting in Umno is not helping.
