Peta Protesting Against Hermes For Crocodile Skin Use

1 min read

Hermes is a well respected luxury brand that always delivers the promise of excellent craftsmanship to their customers. However, their craftsmanship does come at a high price tag and it is reflected with their high status and product quality. Furthermore, they have been around for over 150 years.

Peta’s effort to make Hermes stop using exotic leather

Unfortunately, Peta, a company that regularly kills cats and dogs in their shelters calling it “euthanization” claims that Hermes is “inhumane” for killing crocodiles for their skin. Granted, their most expensive handbags are generally made from these exotic leathers.

Furthermore, there are still other luxury brands out there that are still using exotic skins. One brand in particular is Gucci. However, for Gucci, their exotics are mostly python not crocodile. Regardless, it is a common norm for the fashion industry to use animal skin for their products.
