Anwar Ibrahim has filed a second defamation lawsuit in response to claims that, while serving as Selangor’s economic adviser, he received RM15 million from the state.
This lawsuit is brought against PAS member and Kuala Terengganu MP Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim.
Kuala Terengganu MP and Muhyiddin
Anwar Ibrahim has earlier sued Muhyiddin Yassin for defamation following the same claims that the PKR leader received RM15 million while serving as Selangor’s economic adviser.
Following Muhyiddin’s failure to respond to his letter of demand, the prime minister filed the lawsuit.
In addition to general damages from the Perikatan Nasional chairman, Anwar is also asking for an order preventing Muhyiddin from saying anything similar in the future.
The office of the Selangor Menteri Besar had earlier denied Muhyiddin’s assertions.
