Daily Express says a move to topple the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) State Government failed, Thursday, when nearly half of the 17 Sabah Umno State assembly members refused to sign Statutory Declarations pledging support for Datuk Shafie Apdal as Chief Minister and Datuk Bung Moktar as deputy CM.
The paper says on its portal that it was believed that six – Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, Datuk James Ratib, Datuk Jasni Daya, Datuk Harun Durabi, Datuk Yusof Yaakob and Datuk Andi Muhammad – were also against the to-be-formed Warisan-BN State Government.
Topple GRS
What was to be a no-confidence move against Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji ended instead in a no-confidence move against Sabah Umno head Bung, the paper says. On the other hand, following yesterday’s attempted coup, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor will reorganise his Cabinet, with his deputy chief minister Datuk Bung Moktar Radin axed along with Datuk Jafry Ariffin, the minister of tourism and culture for attempt to topple GRS.
