Power Bank Catches Fire on Scoot Plane

Before takeoff on January 10 night, passengers on Scoot aircraft TR993, which was travelling from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Changi Airport in Singapore, were startled to discover smoke in the cabin.

The plane was scheduled to take off at 7:31 PM, however while it was on the runway, it appears that a passenger’s power bank caught fire.

On the same night, the incident was covered by a number of Taiwanese media outlets. A passenger on board posted a picture of the smoke-filled cabin online.

Power bank can be dangerous.
