According to the Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia, the Proton Wira has retained its title as the “most stolen vehicle” for the 11th consecutive year, based on information related to claims received by insurance companies.
In 2021, 131 Wiras were reported stolen, followed by the Proton Iswara with 75 reported cases. The Toyota Hilux was the most stolen foreign-made car with 65 cases in 2021, placing it fourth on the list.

Perodua Myvi was sixth on the list. The Wira was a popular brand in the past and there are still a considerable number on the road even though production stopped in 2009, with its spare parts making the favorite among thieves.
