The Nanchong Administration for Market Regulation reported on January 28 via its WeChat channel that the Chinese influencer who cooked and consumed a great white shark live on the internet has been fined 125,000 yuan (S$24,313).

Additionally, it was revealed that the Sichuan-based YouTuber known online as Tizi had the last name Jin. Investigations revealed that Jin bought the shark at RMB7,700 (S$1,497) via Taobao on Apr. 13, 2022.
On July 12, 2022, Jin uploaded a video to the Chinese-language versions of TikTok and Kuaishou in which she unwrapped a 2m-long shark and displayed its length by lying next to it.
