Remember the High Speed Rail (HSR) project that was supposed to link Malaysia and Singapore? Well apparently, Muhyiddin Yassin and Tun Mahathir are both “dragged” to court by Mohd Hatta Sanuri. Mr Sanuri is claiming damages worth RM1 million for every individual Malaysian and to revive the program.
Muhyiddin and Mahathir going to court over HSR?
Mr Sanuri alleges Tun Mahathir of mismanaging the HSR project, resulting in the taxpayers’ money being spent on the cancellation fees of over RM320 million paid to the Singaporean government. Furthermore, the estimated cost of RM70 billion that was supposed to be injected into the country did not happen.
Over 70,000 jobs were lost due to the cancellation of this deal according to Malaysia Kini. Netizens are somewhat excited as they think every Malaysian will get RM1 million if Mr Sanuri wins.
Others are sceptical of his claims as it was a government project that would’ve cost the country a lot of money. Imagine the amount of money spent for this project during the Covid-19 pandemic where money is the most crucial for healthcare and vaccines.
