A tragic crash occurred during a training session on Tuesday in Yen Bai province, Vietnam, resulting in the death of a 30-year-old pilot. The air force fighter jet, a Russian-made Su-22, crashed while trying to land at a local airport.
The defense ministry has started an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. This is not the first time that Vietnam has faced similar incidents.
In 2018, two pilots lost their lives during an exercise involving a Su-22, and in 2015, two other pilots had to eject over the South China Sea when their Su-22 crashed.
