Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin, the former Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia, has changed his plans and will now be joining Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) instead of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
Zahidi served as the Member of Parliament for Padang Besar from 2013 to 2022. He was dismissed from Umno after running as an independent candidate for the Padang Besar parliamentary seat and Titi Tinggi state seat in the 15th General Election.
“Previously, I had stated that I would be joining Pakatan Harapan, regardless of which component party it was. Discussions were underway with both PKR and Amanah. However, after consulting with the grassroots in Padang Besar, they believed that I should join Amanah.” Good riddance.
