The Terengganu Election Court has rejected the initial objection from Marang MP Abdul Hadi Awang to dismiss the election petition filed by BN candidate Jasmira Othman.
The court ordered Abdul Hadi to pay legal costs of RM20,000 to Jasmira. The full trial of the case is set from March 6 to 21. All reasons for the initial objection were rejected by the Electoral Court judge.
This included the time limit for filing petitions as stated in the Election Offenses Act 1954. The judge did not accept the initial objection for the Marang Parliament, unlike the previous rejection for the Masjid Tanah Parliament. The Marang Election petition is on!
