Malaysia to Join Full-Scale Cobra Gold Military exercise in Thailand for the sixth time with 30 other participating countries. The annual exercise will be hosted by the Royal Thai Armed Forces and United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) from February 27 to March 10, 2023, with 7,394 personnel from various countries.
The 42nd iteration, which was downsized for the past three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, aims to boost the level of confidence and understanding among participating countries in Peace Enforcement Operation (PEO) and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations. Malaysia is set to send 43 soldiers, including 37 officers, for the exercise.
