The Malaysian Home Ministry has banned three publications, including “The Tale of Steven,” “Jacob’s Room to Choose,” and “Aku,” citing their content as harmful to Malaysian morals, with two books containing LGBT elements.
The Prohibition Order was issued under the Printing Presses and Publications Act, stating that printing, importing, producing, reproducing, publishing, selling, circulating, distributing, or owning these three publications are strictly prohibited in Malaysia.
The ministry explained that the books has content that could influence personal behavior and go against the values of decency in Malaysian society. Three other books were previously banned for containing immoral values and LGBT elements.
