A Police Sergeant was found dead after a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had gunshot wounds to the neck, chest and head. South West District Police Chief, Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal says, the 51-year-old man was found dead at 3.30pm yesterday.
“The deceased was a police officer on duty at the Bayan Lepas Police Station. The police also found a pistol with the deceased. The case is still under investigation and the police advise the public not to spread any speculation,” he says in a statement.
An autopsy on the body of the victim from Sarawak will be conducted at the Penang Hospital.
