Deputy President of Amanah Salahuddin Ayub has stated that all Malaysians have the right to live in the country, in response to comments made by Member of Parliament for Pengkalan Chepa Ahmad Marzuk Shaary who labelled the LGBT community as “not human” and “worse than animals.”
Salahuddin’s remarks for Malaysians
The MP emphasised the need to avoid generalisations and to investigate each case of wrongdoing on an individual basis, stating that everyone who violates the law, including members of the LGBT community, should face legal consequences.
He urged politicians to be cautious and seek accurate information before making accusations. In addition, he addressed reports that some food industry players had withdrawn their Menu Rahmah products voluntarily and stated that his ministry would investigate the matter and report back to the cabinet.
