The Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) and the Ministry of Health (KKM) plan to establish an air ambulance service using helicopters from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).
Purpose of the air ambulance
The service aims to rescue victims in remote areas and respond to highway accidents. Minister Nga Kor Ming said the initiative could save the government at least RM15 million annually, with RM75 million saved in five years, by switching from private sector outsourcing.
Solid Waste Management plans
Meanwhile, the arrears of payment for Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing (PSP&PA) services to the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp) amount to RM538.26 million. The ministry plans to review waste management methods and concession agreements by 2025. The Dewan Rakyat approved an RM1.7 billion allocation for the ministry in the 2023 Budget Committee.
