Programs involving Muslims at non-Muslim places of worship are not permitted, according to Selangor religious affairs executive Zawawi Ahmad Mughni. In a statement, Zawawi expressed that while Selangor supports initiatives by NGOs to promote tolerance, these programs must adhere to the guidelines.
Muslims not allowed to attend events at non Muslim places of worship?
These guidelines are established by the Selangor Islamic religious department (Jais). The rules specify that any program involving Muslims in non-Muslim places of worship is forbidden. Netizens are unhappy with this ruling as weddings and other special ceremonies can be held at places of worship.
Furthermore, netizens are saying that these rules are worse than if PAS is in power. Malaysians from other religions state that everyone is welcome to their house of worship. Most agree that this move is created for those with a “backward” mentality.
