Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has declared he will not be silenced by threats aimed at toppling him from power. Speaking at PKR’s special congress, Anwar vowed to continue fighting corruption and protecting the people. He says they chose the wrong PM to threaten with illegal overthrow.

The prime minister’s statement comes amid the cancellation of a planned “Malay proclamation” gathering, led by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and the recent attempts by opposition members to incite racial and religious tensions.
Anwar cautioned Malaysians to be aware of those who have lost power and now resort to religious bigotry and racism to gain support, as they fear criminal action for graft and tax evasion.
