Minister of Local Government Development, Nga Kor Ming, announced that states offering free land in strategic locations will be prioritised for public housing projects (PPR) construction. He hopes all states can provide land for free or at nominal premium rates to optimise building costs.

PPR Projects to be built

Previously, 30-35% of construction costs were spent on land payments, resulting in lower-quality homes. The offer has been open since last week, with projects implemented on a first-come, first-served basis to avoid waste.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim allocated RM387 million for PPR construction and RM358 million for people-friendly housing projects this year. The ministry will intensify efforts to ensure every family has a home.
