Umno has appointed former Youth Chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki as its new Secretary-General to replace Deputy Finance Minister Ahmad Maslan. Meanwhile, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Azalina Othman has been appointed as the new Chief of Information.

The official announcement of the appointments was made at Umno’s headquarters this afternoon. Asyraf Wajdi, who was recently appointed as the new chairman of MARA, led Umno Youth for almost four years from 2018.
Azalina, on the other hand, was the former first leader of Puteri Umno who has been a member of parliament for Pengerang in Johor for five terms. In the last general election, she defended the seat with a majority of 5,010 votes. She currently serves as a minister in the Prime Minister’s Department responsible for law and institutional reform.
