J&E Advance Tech Sdn Bhd demands RM20 million from former Gombak MP Azmin Ali over allegations of egg contract corruption. This news comes as a shock to Malaysians, as this drives Perikatan Nasional deeper with the reputation of corrupt members.
Azmin Ali being sued by egg importer
The Malaysian egg importer sent a legal letter to Azmin Ali, asking for compensation for allegedly damaging its reputation. This is after Azmin claimed that businessman Deepak Jaikishan had obtained a contract to import eggs through direct negotiation. The company has also demanded that Azmin apologise and withdraw his allegations, promising not to repeat them.
Han & Zi law firm sent the letter of demand and threatened legal proceedings if the company did not receive a satisfactory response within seven days of receipt. The egg importer denied obtaining a contract through direct negotiation, calling Azmin’s allegations untrue and maliciously distorted. The government approved the import of eggs from India to address the shortage of chicken eggs in the market until June.
