Almost 9,400 Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) workers of various levels are scheduled to work during Eid al-Fitr to ensure the stability of electricity supply throughout the peninsula. The chairman of TNB, Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Majid, said the standby duty will be carried out at power stations, control centers, and throughout the service chain.

This is to ensure the smooth delivery and distribution of electricity supply and to be ready to provide service to customers. Although this is a daily routine for workers in their respective service departments, it is a sacrifice as the public celebrates Eid al-Fitr with their families, while they work in the field. In appreciation of their contribution, the electrical company maintains the tradition of giving away boxes of festive treats to their workers.
TNB is increasing monitoring efforts in each state, especially in technical areas, as it is expected that Muslims will return home early to celebrate the holiday, in addition to those who take the opportunity to travel during the long weekend. They are urging everyone to pray for the safety of their workers who are sacrificing their time with their families to ensure the public’s comfort and safety.
