The German President gave a call to our Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim last night and Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed various bilateral issues between Malaysia and Germany. Among the topics discussed, the cooperation between Malaysia and Germany on anti-corruption and the green economy.

“I received a phone call from the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, last night to discuss various bilateral issues between Malaysia and Germany. We talked about cooperation on anti-corruption efforts between our respective anti-corruption institutes and joint initiatives towards green carbon energy.

” I also took the opportunity to request assistance from Germany in repatriating Malaysian citizens from Sudan. In this regard, the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will spare no effort to ensure the safety of Malaysian citizens abroad. The conversation was productive, and I look forward to further strengthening the ties between our two countries,” writes Anwar on Twitter.
