Malaysians in Sudan: Malaysian Government Turns to Germany for Assistance

The Malaysian government sought Germany’s help to evacuate Malaysians from Sudan due to escalating conflicts. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim requested assistance from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, assuring safety measures by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. Anwar and Steinmeier also discussed bilateral issues like anti-corruption cooperation and green carbon energy initiatives.

Malaysians stranded in Sudan 

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir confirmed the safe evacuation of two Malaysians stuck in the country by the Malaysian Embassy in Khartoum. Citizens from Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom were also assisted in evacuating from the affected area.

Zambry highlighted the complexity of the situation in Sudan, with ongoing battles despite ceasefire proposals. He called for prayers and protection for Malaysians in Sudan and smooth operations for their safe return.
