Several traders, including a meat seller at Pasar Awam Larkin Sentral in Johor Bahru, were found to be selling imported buffalo and imported goat meat. Other goods are at prices higher than the maximum price set for Aidilfitri celebration.
Meat sellers selling at higher price
This information is according to a surprise inspection conducted by Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub. Some traders were selling imported buffalo meat for RM24 per kilogram, exceeding the set price of RM20 per kilogram.
In addition, some traders failed to display price tags on their items, which is also an offense. Salahuddin expressed disappointment and directed enforcement officers to take swift action against repeat offenders. Pasar Awam Larkin Sentral, being a popular market for foreign shoppers, will be closely monitored, and the government aims to be firm in ensuring compliance with the set prices for the benefit of both locals and foreigners.
