Johor Chief Minister Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has urged the Malaysian Immigration Department in Johor to provide the best service at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex (CIQ), Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) which is also a national border entry point. This comes after receiving complaints about many immigration counters being closed.
Johor immigration woes during Raya
During his recent visit to the BSI, the Chief Minister was satisfied with the services provided, particularly when all counters were opened and fully operational. He emphasized the importance of consistency in providing the best service to the public and urged the Immigration Department to continue to do so. The Director of the Johor Immigration Department, Baharuddin Tahir, explained that some counters were unable to operate due to technical and safety issues.
The matter had already been communicated to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister hopes that the commitment shown by the immigration officials to ensure a smooth journey for users during festive seasons will continue to reduce congestion at the entry point.
