Institutions under the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Malaysia have been instructed to stop outdoor activities for students if the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in their respective areas exceed 100 due to the hot weather.
MOE’s advice to school administrations
The State Education Departments, District Education Offices, and all educational institutions under the Ministry have been advised to take preventive measures and monitor activities that could expose students to hot weather conditions. The Ministry has emphasized the need to ensure an adequate supply of clean drinking water for all educational institutions under its purview, and students are encouraged to bring their own water.
The Ministry has also advised institutions to be cautious and to cooperate with nearby clinics and hospitals if any complications arise due to hot weather conditions. The Ministry prioritizes the welfare, health, safety, and well-being of all members of its educational institutions.
