Thai police have arrested a 36-year-old woman, Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, on suspicion of planning the murder of at least 12 people using cyanide. She was charged with poisoning her victims, and police believe there may be more victims. Sararat’s ex-husband, a police officer, and his sister, a pharmacist, will also be questioned.

The suspect is alleged to have mixed cyanide into the food of a woman, Siriporn Khanwong, during an important Buddhist ceremony, resulting in her death. The victim’s family suspects treachery, and the initial investigation found that Sararat stole valuables from Siriporn. The suspect remains in custody without bail.
