PAS leader Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s son-in-law Zaharuddin Muhammad have sparked controversy on social media by stating that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is innocent and should be granted pardon from the SRC International case based on Islamic principles.
Zaharuddin argued that wrongly acquitting the guilty is better than wrongfully punishing the innocent, and releasing Najib with amnesty is closer to the Islamic method.
However, he did not specify which Islamic edict or reasoning he is using to make such a statement. Najib was found guilty in the SRC International case and lost his final appeal. Netizens are making jokes on Hadi’s son-in-law.
