Royal Pardon: Why Najib Cannot Get A Pardon Now

Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s campaign for a royal pardon has failed, as the Pardons Board did not discuss the matter. However, reliable sources suggest that the present Yang di-Pertuan Agong is unlikely to grant the royal pardon to Najib for several reasons.

Too Many Appeals

Firstly, he has only been in prison for less than a year. Secondly, he made his first appeal last year, hence a subsequent appeal could only be granted once every two years.

No Royal Pardon

Finally, he is involved in several other ongoing cases, making a mockery of granting him a pardon.
