Civil Services: SEKSUAL Harassment To Say ‘SAYANG’ to Colleagues

Saying ‘sayang’ and ‘dear’ by any public official to a colleague could be reported as an offense of verbal sexual harassment in the civil service. Acts of touching, holding, groping, kissing, pinching, rubbing, hugging, cuddling and the like by civil servants are offenses of physical sexual harassment.

Civil servants are also considered to be committing visual sexual harassment if they send indecent pictures and sexting messages or ‘sexting’ through platforms such as WhatsApp and the like.

But the victim has to have all information at hand, such as time, place and all details of the effects of disturbance to file a complaint.
