In a recent article, Professor Ramasamy Palanisamy, the DAP state assemblyman for Perai and Deputy Chief Minister II of Penang, shared his thoughts on the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit’s (Mitra) announcement to allocate RM39 million to assist the B40 Indians.

He emphasized the importance of financial disbursements directly to target groups rather than to NGOs and urged Mitra to learn from its past pitfalls.

Prof Ramasamy also stressed the need to empower the Indian community through education, particularly in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
